Why Yanke Bionics?
Mark Yanke was kind enough to host me for my senior experience during my senior year of high school. During this time it became apparent to me the high quality of work and experience Yanke Bionics had to offer. Seeing my commitment to this profession, Mr. Yanke offered me a job at the end of the internship. I chose to take this opportunity afforded to me; as being a prosthetist has been my goal since childhood.
Personal
I was born at Akron City hospital with Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency and Fibular Hemimelia, This congenital deformity required that I have a prosthesis to walk. My first prosthesis was fit when I was nine months old. My foot was amputated at the age of five so that I could be fitted with a better-style prosthesis. Due to these circumstances, I've always been driven towards the prosthetics industry as it affords me empathy towards those in a similar situation.

Personal
My undergraduate degree is in pre-physical therapy, but I inherently knew that path was not for me. One day in college, I saw a soldier on a poster with a prosthetic leg and I immediately became interested in his prosthesis. Seeing that poster was the start of my interest in the field of orthotics and prosthetics. As a daughter, sister, and relative of many service members my dream was to take care of our many veterans, active duty service members, and citizens who become injured in the line of duty. I truly enjoy making a difference in someone’s life to help them walk and become active again. I am also an active volunteer with the Special Olympics and I love to advocate for adapted physical education programs for children and adults with special needs.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family. I enjoy rock climbing, bowling, obstacle courses, weight lifting, and sand volleyball. Anything active, count me in!

WHY YANKE BIONICS:
- Yanke Bionics is where I started my career in Orthotics and Prosthetics in 1993
- The company is a successful, patient care-driven, longstanding organization with talented and dedicated team members who have proven to deliver high-quality patient care in the greater Northeast Ohio region.
- Yanke Bionics is a technology-driven company that constantly strives to improve its quality of care delivered.
PERSONAL:
- I started my Career with Yanke Bionics as an intern during my summer breaks from college in the early ‘90s. From the time I was in grade school, I knew that I wanted to pursue working in the field of Prosthetics. I had a childhood friend who was an Above Knee amputee secondary to osteosarcoma. I always found it fascinating how his prosthesis worked and was amazed that it allowed him to do anything he wanted to with the use of the prosthesis.
- I moved to Houston, TX in 1997 and practiced there for the past twenty-four years. During the first fifteen years, I was employed by several companies where I gained a great deal of practical experience. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity from 2012-2019 to own and co-manage my own private patient care company, Kinetic Orthotic & Prosthetic Solutions. I recently sold my business and moved back to Akron Ohio to be close to family and friends. Having been born and raised in Copley-Fairlawn it is great to be back HOME. I am blessed to have the chance to rejoin this amazing company and am thankful for the opportunity.
